Some Of My Latest Projects

Hello to all of you followers. Here are pictures of more of my projects.
1. Black and Orange Pinata Cat
2. Spider Web Doily
3. Baby First Step
4. Two Cabbage Patch Dolls
5. Porcelain Doll
6. Baby Doll In Cradle
7. Baby Doll Hat and Cocoon
8. Reborn Dolls In Process
9. Quilt I made for Granddaughter.
As you can see I have not been just sitting around twiddling my thumbs. We had a Halloween Party for grand children and their friends. They wanted a cat pinata so I made them one. I haven't made one for a few years so it was fun to make one again. The grand children came to do the decorating, thank goodness. That is definitely to much work for me. #2 picture is a spider web doily of my own creation for the center of the table. A good time was had by all.
#3 picture is Baby First Step from 1964 that I bought on the Internet. She is wearing her new dress and headband I made for her. Next are two Cabbage Patch Kids that I bought and cleaned them up and made them new crochet outfits. The cloth Cabbage Patch dolls with vinyl heads wash up very nicely in a front load washer. The yellow yarn hair doll had some kind of black spots on her face that all came out in the wash.
Next doll is a 10 inch porcelain one that I got on the Internet and she had no clothes. So I took care of that by crocheting her a new dress and made an under slip to match.
The baby in the cradle was one that I reborn and made her pajamas. The cradle I found at a sale. I cleaned it up and my Hubby painted it for me. I made bedding and a new blanket for the doll.
#9 is a Berjusa newborn baby doll I found on the Internet. I made her a matching hat and cocoon on Kniffty Knitter Looms. I have yet to make her some pajamas. (Another days project.)
I love to find dolls at used a bit stores, rummage sales, Internet and where ever. I love to take unwanted dolls clean them up fix their hair and give them new clothes so they know they are loved. I would do great at the Island of Misfit Toys ( from Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer). I hate to see dolls neglected and unloved. I guess I am still a little girl at heart and I will always love dolls. I have learned to re-root doll hair and repaint if necessary.
Next is a picture of dolls in the process of being reborn. those have been finished and I have four more in the process. I always have projects in process. That way I always have something for the next day (or next month).
Last but not least is a quilt I made for one of our granddaughters.I made it with the technique of rag quilting. That is something I have learned to do that I really like. It was finished before Christmas last year but I never saw her to give it to her until late this summer.
So as you can see I have been busy. These are only part of my projects, that is why I don't seem to get on here very often to add to my blog. If you have any questions please let me know. I will be very happy to answer you.
So until next time, have a Happy Thanksgiving, there is much to be thankful for. Take care and May God Bless, Hugs, DeeDee

Yep, It's me, slow again. If my family ever gets healthy and stays that way I may find time to keep this caught up. Right now our daughter has been having seizures for several weeks. She finally got into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester to see a Dr. She had a seizure while she was with him so they admitted her right into the hospital. So now we should be able to find out whats going on. And before that my husband was in the hospital with high blood pressure. But he is doing fine now. So my friends, I haven't forgotten you or this blog, life just takes some nasty turns sometimes. I am hoping to add some things next week. I am working on a few projects, one is a pinata for Halloween, a black cat. So for now I will sign off.
You all take care and May God Be with you. Hugs, DeeDee

September Is Here

Sorry, It seems I am slow again. I was going to try to do so much but time seems to fly. I can't believe summer is almost gone and kids are back in school. Not that I have any in school except grand children. But oh my, the summer is going to be gone in a flash I am sure.
I have been cleaning a re-organizing my craft room. I only have 4 more cabinets to go. With any luck I will have it done this month. Then I would also like to re-organize my dolls and get them listed in a note book so if anthing would happen to me my family would know whats what.
I have been crocheting in the evenings. I am working on necklaces made out of ladder yarn. Here is a web site with very good patterns for them. They are so light and pretty, I love them. www.numei.com/crochetpatterns_ladderribbonnecklace.htm

Then I am also working on a baby afghan part of the time. The pattern for that, that I am using is one I have done before. Here is the web site for that.

I have a few ideas for a few patterns of my own once I get caught up on cleaning and reorganizing. And then I still have lots of dolls that need clothes. Also I suppose I will be doing some sewing or crafting of some kind for Christmas gifts again this year. I don't think I will be doing any quilts this year though. I need a break from quilting for a while.

Well everyone, until next time, Take Care and May God Bless you all.
Hugs, DeeDee

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

To start off at the top are 2 of the sock monkies I made for grand children. I have been busy getting ready for a craft show. This is just a few of my projects I have been working on for it. The two top ones are 7 1/2 " dolls with milk filter disc dresses, next is a 15" bed doll, then two air freshner dolls and last is another bed doll. I know this is short but after the craft show ( Aug. 20th) I hope to have more time. Then I will be back to creating for myself again. I still have many dolls to dress and I want to get back to them. If anyone is looking for any doll crochet patterns please email me. I have many and I may be able to help you out. Everyone have a good day and May God Bless.

Here are two of my latest projects. A reborn baby doll I made for a customer. She is 22 inches long and weighs 8 pounds. I could have just sat and cuddled her. I love reborn baby dolls.

The other is my Princess Diana doll in an outfit I made. It is a copy of one of Princess Diana's actual outfits that she wore on a tour of Australia in 1983. I have always been a fan of Pricess Diana and I like to make reproductions of original clothes.

I have so many projects going on and so little time to spend on them it seems like. This afternoon I am going to spend on milk filter disk dolls and sock monkeys. Not sure which will be first. Probably sock monkeys, I have granddaughters waiting for them. So I had better get with it.

Here are links to the Milk Filter Disk dolls and the original Sock Monkey.

So until next time take care and May God Bless you all.
